Set up your company, GST & branding
Tell MGH Books about your business once — name, address, GSTIN and logo — and it appears correctly on every invoice and report.

Read this first
- ▸ Your state decides the GST split (CGST+SGST vs IGST), so set it correctly.
- ▸ No GSTIN yet? You can still bill — add it later when you register.
- ▸ Your logo and chosen template make every invoice look professional.
Being straight with you
- • Running more than one business under one login (multi-company) is available on Unnati and Shakti.
- • Changing your state or GSTIN later is fine, but it only affects new documents — already-issued invoices stay as they were.
Step by step
- 1
Open Company Profile
Settings → Company ProfileEnter your business name, full address and state.
- 2
Add your GSTIN (optional)
Paste your 15-character GSTIN. Leave blank if you're not registered.
- 3
Upload your logo & pick a template
Add a logo and choose an invoice design — you can change it anytime.
- 4
Save
You're ready to bill. These details now flow onto every document.
Set it once, it's everywhere
Your company details — name, address, state, GSTIN and logo — appear on every invoice and report. Getting them right at the start means everything you produce looks professional and is compliant from day one.
The details that matter most
| Detail | Why it matters | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Business name & address | Appears on every document | Yes |
| State | Decides CGST/SGST vs IGST on bills | Yes |
| GSTIN | Makes your invoices proper GST invoices | If registered |
| Logo & template | Professional, branded invoices | Recommended |
| Financial year | Sets your reporting period | Yes |
No GSTIN yet? Still fine
You don't need a GSTIN to start. Bill without one now and add it the day you register — all your existing data stays, and new invoices simply become GST invoices from then on.
Running more than one business
On Unnati (up to 3 companies) and Shakti (up to 30), you can manage multiple businesses under one login and switch between them, each with its own books, GSTIN and reports kept fully separate.

Troubleshooting
My state is wrong on invoices
Fix: Update it in Company Profile — it controls which GST type is applied to new documents.
My logo isn't showing on PDFs
Fix: Re-upload it in Settings → Templates and pick a template that displays a logo.
I need to change my GSTIN
Fix: Update it in Company Profile; it applies to new documents — already-issued invoices stay as they were.
